The Captains
Captain Drew Mixon is a USCG Master Captain with qualifications to operate vessels from inshore sized boats, to ocean going commercial craft. Not only an angler, Drew is a true outdoorsman and steward of our beautiful central Florida environment. Drew has attained the level of master birder and his knowledge of facts and trivia concerning Florida's wildlife will entertain you with interesting things you didn't know before you climbed aboard.
Drew's fished Florida waters for over 40 years and developed techniques to put great fish in the boat. He’s always been a family man and introduced his boys to fishing and the great outdoors at an early age.
Drew has captained teams at the professional level on the redfish tours, pro kingfish tour, countless offshore tournaments and 2 different professional bass tours. With 7 IGFA records, and trophy catch citations in 4 states to his credit, Drew uses the techniques he developed in his tournament angling to help anglers be more efficient on the water.
Drew is known far and wide as not taking himself, or things too seriously. If you enjoy a laugh and don’t want to be overly intense while putting giant fish in the boat, Drew will definitely make your day.
Captain Micha Mixon is a Florida native who has been fishing since he was in diapers--literally. Micha fished in his first tournament at age 3 and has been tournament fishing ever since. Micha received his first IGFA junior world record at age 7. He was one of the youngest USCG certified captains to be certified in Florida and is currently working on his Master Captain certification. With dozens of tournament wins and numerous trophy sized fish on his resume, he is a genuine force on the water. Micha is at home in on the water as most people are in their living room.
With a network of young anglers, he stays on top of what's biting and were. Micha has a fresh and youthful attitude about his fishing, and with angling experience greater than most ‘old salts’, he makes a great guide for both experienced and novice anglers. Many times he can ‘connect’ with younger anglers accompanying dad or mom. He can talk the talk, and certainly walk the walk.
Both Capt Drew and Capt Micha are USCG certified captains--not just 'guides'.
This means they have accumulated and documented extensive experience on the water, completed all mandated training, passed strict drug tests, underwent federal background checks and passed the USCG's challenging testing protocol.
This is the highest standard a professional in this field can achieve. Not all bass guides attempt this route.
The title of Captain is truly earned, and that level of professionalism is evident in the way we conduct our business and provide for our anglers.
